Terms of Use
Version 2026-10-15-draft
Draft for review by counsel. Not yet in force.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply when you use the Groopit app and website. Groopit is operated by Leapforge Innovations Pvt Ltd (CIN —, GSTIN —), with its registered office at — ("Groopit", "we", "us"). By creating an account or making a booking, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
1. Who we are
Groopit is an online marketplace that helps neighbours book home services and other offers together, so that everyone pays less. We do not perform the services ourselves. Services are provided by independent technicians, partner sellers and travel agencies ("Partners"), whose name, address and, where applicable, GSTIN are shown on each deal page. Your contract for the service is with the Partner. Groopit acts as an intermediary and e-commerce platform: we list deals, take bookings, collect payments on the Partner's behalf and help sort out problems.
For GST, where a Partner is not registered under GST, Groopit acts as the e-commerce operator under section 9(5) of the CGST Act, 2017 and pays the GST on those services. All prices are shown inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
2. Who can use Groopit
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law. If you book for your household, you confirm that you are allowed to do so.
3. Your account and OTP login
- You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS. Keep your phone and OTPs private. Never share an OTP with anyone, including people who say they are from Groopit.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at once at support@groopit.in if you think someone else has used it.
- Please give accurate details, including your name, flat number, building and society, so Partners can reach you.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, misuse offers or put others at risk.
4. How group deals work
A deal is an offer for a service in your area (for example, AC servicing in your society) with a booking deadline and price tiers.
- Tiers. The price drops as more bookings join. The deal page shows the current tier live, and how many more bookings the next one needs.
- Everyone pays the final lowest price. When the deal locks, every booking is charged the price of the tier finally reached, whether you joined first or last.
- Automatic refund of the difference. If you paid more than the final price, we automatically refund the difference to your original payment method when the deal locks. You don't need to ask.
- Deposit and balance. For most deals you pay a deposit when you book, and the balance online after the deal locks, by the due date shown in the app. Some deals need full payment upfront; the deal page will say so. If the balance isn't paid on time, your booking may be cancelled under the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- When a deal locks. A deal locks at its deadline, or earlier if it becomes full. Once locked, the price is final and your slot is confirmed.
- If the target is not reached. Each deal has a minimum number of bookings set by the Partner. If bookings are below it at the deadline, the deal is cancelled and everyone gets a full refund, including fees. If the minimum is met but the target tier is not, the deal page says which rule applies: the deal goes ahead at the best tier reached, or each customer chooses to go ahead at that price or cancel for a full refund. No reply within 12 hours counts as a choice to go ahead.
- What's included. The deal page describes the slots and what each service includes. Anything extra (such as spare parts or gas refilling) is charged separately, and only with your agreement.
5. Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel a booking from the app. What you get back depends on when, and by whom, it is cancelled, as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Some product and travel deals have their own terms, shown on the deal page.
6. What Partners agree to
Partners who list on Groopit agree to: complete KYC and keep their documents up to date; hold the licences and registrations their work needs; describe their services and prices honestly; arrive on time, be courteous and work safely; issue correct invoices; honour the revisit guarantee; and follow all applicable laws. Separate Partner terms also apply to them. We check KYC documents, but we do not guarantee the work of any Partner.
7. Your conduct
When using Groopit, please do not:
- give false information, or book for someone else without their consent;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against Partners or other users;
- move a booking for a Groopit deal off the platform to avoid fees;
- misuse coupons, referrals or points, including through fake or duplicate accounts;
- post unlawful, misleading or offensive content; or
- try to break, scrape or overload our systems.
Please give the Partner safe access, and keep children and pets away from the work area.
8. Revisit guarantee
If the same issue comes back within 30 days of a service booked and paid for in the Groopit app, raise it from your booking and the Partner will revisit free of charge. The guarantee covers the same issue on the same unit only. It does not cover new faults, spare parts, damage caused by misuse, or bookings made outside the app.
9. Ratings and reviews
After a job, you can review the Partner. Reviews must be honest, about your own experience, and free of abusive or personal content. We may remove reviews that break these rules, but we do not edit reviews to change their meaning. Partners may not pay for or pressure anyone into giving reviews.
10. Referrals, captain rewards and points
Unless we say otherwise, referral rewards, society captain rewards, coupons and points have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. They may expire and may be capped per person or per month; the current rules are shown in the app. We may change, pause or end these programmes at any time, and withhold or reverse rewards gained through misuse.
11. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is", and Partners are responsible for the services they provide. To the extent the law allows, Groopit is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim about a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to make good any loss, claim or cost (including reasonable legal fees) that Groopit suffers because you broke these Terms or misused the platform.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your right to approach a consumer commission, the courts at Kalyan and Thane, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. Grievance redressal
If you have a complaint, please contact us through Help in the app first. If it isn't resolved, write to our Grievance Officer (details on our Grievance Redressal page).
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will tell you about important changes in the app or by SMS/WhatsApp before they take effect. If you keep using Groopit after that, you accept the updated Terms.
